Dr. Briesemeister, D.D.S

Dr. Brian Briesemeister Jr., a native of Virginia, spent most of his youth in the Bennett’s Creek area of Suffolk. Growing up, Dr. Briesemeister was actively involved in athletics and the Boy Scouts of America where he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.

Brian attended John Yeates Middle School and Nansemond River High School graduating in 2006 with honors. He received the Big Blue Leadership Scholarship to attend Old Dominion University where he was the president of the American Chemical Society, chemistry teacher assistant, and a Resident Advisor.

After graduating from Old Dominion University in 2010 with a Bachelor’s in biology and a minor in biochemistry, Dr. Briesemeister worked as a substitute teacher and varsity volleyball coach for Suffolk Public Schools. In 2011, he accepted an offer of admissions to Howard University College of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. While in dental school, Dr. Briesemeister was involved in several student organizations and participated in “Give Kids a Smile Day,” which services the dental needs of local elementary school children. He also had an opportunity to volunteer with the Christian Dental Society on a mission trip to the St. Elizabeth parish of Jamaica where he provided dental care to the underserved population.

Dr. Briesemeister graduated from Howard University with a Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. He was trained in comprehensive general dentistry, treating the whole patient not just the mouth. When not practicing dentistry, you’ll find Dr. Briesemeister spending time with his family, friends, and Great Dane. He also enjoys camping, playing volleyball, and riding horses.

Dr. Briesemeister is excited to return to Suffolk and serve the community he grew up in.
